Inspired by being Uninspired

What do I blog about when I am feeling uninspired? That which caused it. At this point in time I am begging for grace to get out of this tunnel vision unto the light. People seem to be unforgiving. Nobody wants to give anyone a chance. Everybody wants to win the war they created for themselves. The people of the land suffers. Nothing comes to mind but this:

2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people will humble themselves and, I will hear from heaven, forgive their sins & heal their land.

Fort Photo Shoot (for Sugar&Spice's September Collection)

I’m blessed to be surrounded with gorgeous, good-looking people around me – not to mention that they’re all too willing to put up with all these brouhaha that goes with me having a blog, my unrelenting obsession to styling & keeping, maintaining an online store. (Thanks much Abby Cabbie & Sasa Girl) That Earl is crazy about doing photo shoots is just the icing on top of the cake, really. So one hot sunny day, off we went to Fort San Pedro, which by the way was never the original location – but we were whisked away, so we had to find an alternative. We ended up having a blast! I’ll let the pictures do the talking. Below are some of my favourites, enjoy!

Everybody dances to their own boom boom <3

Book Love

I am so glad I scored this paperback in my recent hunt. The handwritten notes inside got to me first before anything. But when I began to read, the Lord just spoke volumes to me - the book contained the answers to my personal struggle of the moment. My heart is renewed. Case closed. I can't wait for another bookstore to scour. And for you who got my name for our Manito Manita - I would love anything written by CS Lewis :) thanks & i'll certainly b expecting that *wink*

The Shorts Story

So we met yet again, 11 of us strong, for Gracie’s Despidida. You would think by now we are already experts at this – after all, Despididas are slowly becoming a trend these days where I’m at *insert smiley face here*, but no goodbyes are ever easy.  It was bittersweet knowing that we will not be seeing that sweet gentle smile with pingpong ball-like cheeks everyday but we are at the same time blessed that the Lord allowed her to journey with us for at least a year & is now bringing her to a Promised Land she has been praying for.

But with goodbyes are also hellos. And we are certainly delighted to welcome Peachy-Peach a.k.a Ishat to our team. There’s no doubt she will fall in love with Don Bosco in no time, that - I am excited about. (haaaaay ang korona ug kapa nako mabalhin najudddddddddddd hahaha).

Orange Mesh Shirt, Ukay Store/Beaded Shorts, Soria find/So Fab boots
And now for the outfit post - as requested by the Despidida Girl, we are to come in shorts ‘’). As you may have noticed, my legs aren’t the prettiest (I know you might be thinking gross haha ), I know, coz as a child I have been insecure about them coz I think they’re kind of mannish and as result, I rarely wore shorts during high school & even my college years (yes, even to the beach- I have photos of myself wearing leggings haha, now that is gross). I honestly can’t remember anymore when I gained the confidence to don shorts but that suddenly they’ve become a wardrobe staple and my ultimate summer uniform. So, even if all I could think about is the long mullet skirt I got on sale in SM, I wore my best shorts with this lovely orange (yeah!) mesh shirt that I got at an ukay store. I paired it with my So Fab booties that were, true to its’ brand, really fabulous. -sugar&spice-
Whoever said that ORANGE is my favorite color is lying hahahaha!

Sasa's sandals, Ishat's gorgeous ALDO bag, cheilo's belt & shorts, june's topman shirt, Michelle's floral blouse, Tishabambi's boots, Cheilo's sneaks
Yeah, I am in my Sartorialist mood =) tehee

And lastly, we pray God's grace will keep you afloat grashabelle!! We love you!
William feeling it and Grace waley as usual hahahaha

What's a leopard doing in my shirt?

Leopard Mullet Sheer Shirt, Sugar & Spice/Orange Bandage Shirt, Sugar & Spice/Faliya Shoes/Forever 21 accessories
“We assume the really serious changes in our lives happen slowly, over time. But it’s not true. The big stuff happens in an instant.” That’s what Meredith Grey says.
I’m prepping myself up for big major changes that are happening in my life. None that is unwelcome though, but all things bright and sunny. I see it shining over the horizon. I can’t wait.

On other things, SAS will be launching its’ 2nd collection of trendy, street-chic wear very soon! The leopard sheer mullet shirt I am wearing is part of the collection that is up for grabs. You will love its’ long back detail and the leopard print which is oh so fierce. Get it now!

As random as one can get

Pants, thrifted. Sheer Blouse, Sugar & Spice, Forever 21 thong sandals, Mango Tote, Rayban Wayfarers

With MayDecs, I have to say that PLANNING FOR MEET-UPS is soooo WALEY as in LAOS!!! When we do, nothing happens almost 100% of the time. We are more of the spur-of-the-moment, I-don’t-have-anything-to-do-today-let’s-meet/escape-somewhere type of barkada hahaha. Case in point: I had to get away from work (I actually mean I’m in a no-stress vacation leave haha), Nika is free for lunch, June had no classes & I WAS CRAVING for Sizzling Bangus Belly. So we met up for lunch at AAs & caught up on new things about us like we used to...., that wasn’t planned AT.ALL.

Four hours & heavy rains + madugong window shopping later, I was asking June this question: “Have you found yet what you have been looking for in the changes you went through with your life? He nodded silently. I replied, I want that for myself too.” What I really meant was, I CAN’T WAIT for such time when I can finally say I am thankful for all former things & even more thankful for the things that are to come. For now, I will enjoy what little piece of heaven is there still left where God has placed me. I want to be able to give it my bestest shot. I want to finish the race, with eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfector of Faith, and end victoriously, so help me God. SAS
Bangus yeah!

Travel Diaries: South Luzon Invasion

Igme was unrelenting we had to do a detour & take a different (read: more fun!) route. We found ourselves lazing around at the hotel room where there's unlimited wifi, cable TV & the comfiest of sheets in the world when we were supposed to leave the for the first leg of our loooong travel. But like I said, we couldn't have cared less! We were happy sticking our pretty little buts on this comfortable king bed :-)

Our pretty little room in Manila

Well, it literally took us seconds to come up with Plan B (like we haven't thought of it earlier!) - which was way greater for me mainly because it could buy me more shopping time (haha!). So we scurried our way to Divisoria, shopped for hours & went home tired but happy :-) I am so stoked about that! But really, another thing that kept me excited was the thought of seeing & being with one of my closest friends "Salie the Donya", her hubby Shan (who by the way is one amazing Dad & husband) and their delightfully, insufferably cute little dynamo of a child named Ashlie. They were so willing to take us in again for a chance to show us the land of the South that Salie is soooo proud about & so off we went on our 2nd day.

The EK Adventure. Here's a roundup of the things we did while there.
1. Rode the Mini Roller Coaster
2. and the Anchors Away
3. Sat down and ate & watched a parody show
4. Lined up for what seemed like forever for the Rio Grande ride where Yana got an unfortunate seat & ended up all wet
5. Yana & Mich bravely tried the Log Jam & Mich was a scaredy cat (props for trying though)
6. me & Earl ate Burritos coz we weren't feeling like wanting to get wet
7. They finally conquered the space shuttle - the nerve wracking, adrenaline pumping, death-courting roller coaster ride ( which I missed - hehehe, now who's really scared)
8. Rode the biggest Ferris' Wheel ever that had me trembling in fright.
9. Watched the fireworks to cap the fun with Yana overhearing someone saying in Visayan "Ay mao ra to, nindot pa man sa Ayala kanang sinulog" hahaha

That was it. Only, that wasn't really it! I have to say that I SOOO REGRETTED HAVING RIDDEN THE ANCHORS AWAY which is the world's worst ride!! It literally took my breath away I was soooo close to collapsing . No amount of screaming could appease my nerves. I think I will forever be allergic to any ride that looks like a boat suspended in the air. hahahaha

Log Jam, Anchors' Away, Space Shuttle, Rio Grande, Mini Roller Coaster

Let's not forget the Vintage Village though, it was a little place of heaven for artists & I am sure as night follows day Yanapye the artist had a blast. It was like her artworks coming to life.

And then, the very hospitable Shannon picked us up from EK & brought us to their charming little home at Calamba, Laguna where Salay & Ashlie prepared for us Lechon Manok dinner. That for me is still the best part of this day.

And then Tagaytay.
1.     We had a mini-adventure doing an ocular of a spooky hotel called RP (haha!). We were so happy to leave we literally ran out & never looked back! The attendant even looked like she was about to eat us..,grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!
2.    Quick stop to Memory Lane ( I insisted) It’s a pretty little boutique that is one of its kind. It had a restaurant, spa & memorabilia store inside. It was so cute, so Jolina Magdangal in fact.
3.      Lunch at Dencio’s. The food was good & so is the view.
4.      People’s Park.
5.      Mass at Lourdes Parish (yeah!)
6.   Slept at a charming little inn by the edge of a cliff overlooking Lake Taal. Spartan accommodations but the amazing view (plus the price) took more than more than made up for what they lack in accommodation.

At Memory Lane with Ashlie, Salie, Yana, Mich & My Baby

The charming view from Jesca Lakeview Inn

That was basically what we did the whole trip.

And since I have always seen travel as a perfect excuse to dress up, here I am in my signature edgy, street-style clothes that I bravely donned with a lot of thick skin & i-don't care-what-you-say attitude!!!

City Garden

At Picnic Grove

So, did I regret not being able to go Ilocos? Not at all.  I had a blast this entire trip & I am even planning on a round two, if only for the Space Shuttle <3 SAS.
