There's no greater joy, Lord

I've been really distracted these days. Things that are entirely new to me come barging & it feels like I don't even have the strength to process, much less fight it out of my system. Fight, eh? Yeah, coz I'm not sure whether this is leading me somewhere or if it is even good for me. I'm probably just over-thinking things right now. Any way it goes, I know the answer rests on the Seat of all Wisdom. I hear Him now even in the song played out over the radio. "There's no greater joy, Lord than being with You. There goes the answer.

Bad Weather Dressing

This gorgeous leather jacket has been hanging in my closet for a while now & though I'm in love with it I just can't find the perfect time to don it.

Enter Ofel. Rainy days are not my thing. Much more STORMY days! There's something about the rains, brooding skies & howling winds that get me down. Of course I dread the devastation that follows - O Lord please spare our country.

On a lighter note, work is not suspended & if this time isn't perfect to take this leather jacket out for a stroll, then I don't know when :) Guess bad weather is not so bad afterall :-)

Floral Power

I'm not really a Dress girl but I do indulge my inner goddess sometimes by wearing feminine pieces - like this floral mini dress for instance :) I love that it's short but not too much such that I can still wear it to work :) I'm loving the mix of gray with soft saccharine shades of pink & blue flowers in this dress! Plus it is uber-comfy I got to wear it with my leather top siders.

On other things, I'm super grateful to Sasabelle for putting up with my crazed we've-got-to-do-it-now-no-kids-outside picture taking propensity. The photos here - and those in the past which I haven't posted yet were mostly taken by her - and I'm sure as everybody's nose in their faces you'd all agree she's more suitable being in front of it than behind. Today's been hectic but we stole a little time to do this :)

Well guys, right now, Bro. Dondon is playing the guitar to the sweet tune of Moonlight in Paris & I am totally, utterly distracted, so bye for now & till the next post!!

Colors Everywhere

I seem to love random dressing these days. You know I'm the type who takes forever staring at my closet as if I don't have anything to wear anymore (insert Earl's eye rolling here haha) And there has been plenty of those times these days - like now :) This is soooo totally not planned - but I thought it kind of worked for me. I am going to dread uniform days now. (Oh November, you are making me sad just thinking about it, how lame) Meanwhile, Carpe Diem Bam!!! Dress awayyyyyy while you still can, Sugar! :)

My Thoughts on Fifty Shades of Grey

I honestly had absolutely ZERO idea about what Fifty Shades of Grey was all about. I just found out my friends from the office were hooked & everyone was like raving about it & so my curiosity was piqued – and I asked a copy of the Ebook from Cleofe which she happily obliged (thanks clei-o darling)

My verdict: All the explicit sex episodes aside (which I think is extremely unnecessary) the story is entertaining in a Mills & Boon-ish kind of way. Only, I think for the most part, my being a Twihard got in the way - to the point that the dark, sinister, baleful character that is CHRISTIAN GREY became a disappointment to me. I turned pages excitedly half hoping that he’d turn out to be a vampire or a human-preying creature of some sort who falls deeply in love with an uncoordinated human. To my dismay, he turned out to be a wounded man with real child molestation issues. So yeah, he is human. Even then, I certainly hoped he had even just a bit of Edward’s romantic flair which he didn’t (well at least in the first installment, coz I heard Darker’s a different story altogether, hmmmm we’ll see) I wish Anastasia wasn’t at all too giving. It just ruins the whole “romance” thing. I don’t know with you but for me, it gets really cheap when they resort to their carnalities. Just when I was ready for the ending (and seriously considered not reading the sequel) – turned out it was left hanging for that exact purpose - that I read on to the next!

Fifty Shades Darker had better be good. And Christian Grey had better confess to falling in love with Ana, or I swear I am gonna protest. Like crazy.

All warmed up

Caramel Leather Jacket
Feathered Bolero
Layering is always a great way to add spice to any outfit. That is why I am such a sucker for coats, jackets or anything that would break the monotony of any attire. Both cover-ups are thrifted. I especially love the feather details of these black long sleeved bolero - they're uber chic & adds instant pizzazz to a boring outfit. They're perfect for the ber months!!! Can't wait for a perfect opportunity to don them :)))

Nope, I am not vain

I’d like to think I’m not vain – that's cause I used to rely on the basic cleanser-moisturizer-toner -powder-lip gloss habit for my daily look. But looking inside my kikay kit made me realize otherwise (>_<), I’m seriously sad with what I discovered. I think perhaps, my best cuz Tina got me into this “make-up” frenzy. As of last count, most items I have came from her (yes, she spoils me that way) What clothes are for me, make-up is to Tintina (I’m letting out your secret cuz!) Here’s what I use for may basic make-up routine:

Once I discovered about Shu Uemura, there's just no getting over :) I super love the bergamot mist, you just spray it once on a humid day - and voila! Instant freshness!! :)

Shu Uemura Bergamot Deep Sea Mist & Cleansing Oil

No wonder I come in late for work sometimes! Hahaha! There are days when I feel like putting all of them on!! Feel, feel lang hehehehe

Etude House Brow Definer/Max Factor Lippy/Kiehl's Lip Balm # 1/NYX Pink Lipstick/Estee Lauder Mascara/Cover Girl Concealer/ Max Factor Blush/In 2It Brow Definer/Majolica Marjorca Powder

Kabuki brush/CG Trublend Minerals Powder Foundation/ Shu Uemura Instant Glow Foundation/Maybelline BnB Cream

This one I carry when I travel. Their powder is unmatched! It blends perfectly in my uber-dry fez!

If I have one product I need to have all the time though, it's the super reliable KIEHL'S BALM #1. I can live without the rest hehe :)

Even if I sometimes feel like getting made up to the hilt, I still strongly believe that IT'S A WOMAN'S INNER BEAUTY that makes her shine. With a clean & pure heart, who needs a Shu Uemura or a MAC?

Now I'm wondering, what's in a Sugar & Spice girl's kikay kit, If I may ask?
